Use special instruments, qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, including clinical observation and standardized tests, to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of impairments and the effect on patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.

After evaluation write quality evaluation reports, develop treatment plans, and manage individualized treatment focused on the patient’s individual goals.

Maintain treatment records, progress reports, and discharge reports of clients in an appropriate, timely and effective manner.

To regularly review progress and adjust treatment plans according to level of progress and patient goals.

Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, and other health care workers; and contributing to patient care conferences.

Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

To provide patient training and support as an integral part of the therapy programme, working with family members to recognize and change neuromyotonic, physical, sensory processing and/or behavior patterns that impede progress.

Require task delegation and supervision of therapist assistants and technicians.

Assist with staffing, scheduling, orientation, training and communications to provide adequate coverage for patient treatments.

Participate and lead in the in-house professional development program and demonstrate commitment to your own professional development via online courses, professional journals and the like.

Lead in a structured program of teaching and mentoring junior and Chinese trained therapists.

Maintain open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met.

Require effective supervisory skills along with good communication skills for interdepartmental relationships.

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent programme) in occupational therapy from accredited university or college

A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification work experience

A minimum of 1 years working in a pediatric community setting

License and/or certificate showing ability to work as an occupational therapist

Good spoken and written English, Chinese-speaking OT candidate preferred.
